Is it a Monk that does the Sak Yant? Where do I get a genuine Sak Yant? Lets answer some of these questions. It is not a Monk that performs the tattoo but a Learned person, refered to as an "AJARN" that has studied the alphabet, language, symbols, pictures the magic and mystic assosiated with these Yants for many years under Monk Masters. At BlessYouTattoo@Indigo we have our resident Ajarn "Patr", he has studied under Master Jan Tra, Master Som Butt and Master Pu. The Head Monks he studied under were Pra Ajarn Ban Job @ Tungtuk Temple at Phang Nga Province. Pra Ajarn Dewn at Siripong Temple @ BKK. When you have decided to get a Sak Yant the next step is to discuss the design and different meanings and blessings with one of our staff. We will then make an appointment for you to see the Ajarn to discuss the final details of your Sak Yant. Each Yant is unique to the person wearing it and there are some rules associated with having this sacred tattoo. Time to have your Sak Yant, now you pray with the Ajarn before the tattooing starts. You may hear the Ajarn chanting at times throughout the process of your tattoo and you will have your blessing ceremony when finished tattoing.
